Why does the brake pedal sit higher than the accelerator pedal

Usually for safety reasons. Not sure how much yours does, but did you try adjusting the height?

All the pedals move in unity with the power adjust, you cannot change the position of one in relation to the other.

The point I was making is that if you look the acccel pedal sits a little lower than the brake, I never noticed it before, but if you just touch your foot on that pedal then slide it to the left you have to lift it a bit to sit it on the brake pedal.

Not sure why, but it's been like this in all the cars I've ever had. It's probably so you don't mistake the brake pedal for the gas pedal. Also, the brake pedal has a much larger dead-zone built into it, so the point where you actually start braking is probably more or less a similar height as the gas pedal.

Sorry, that is not what I meant. I was referring to using the height to make it easier for you.

That is correct and I have owned dozens.

Yeah I have had many cars too,
it is just the first time I noticed it.
Damn, I really do have to get out more!
