I wonder if x350 owners are generally older than xk or xf owners?

I live in Florida so everything is an old person car haha. I assume it's probably because they are comfortable, smooth and dignified. I bought mine when I was 27 and still have it at 30. I really was looking for a 2004-'06 LS430 but the Jag found me and as much as I love Lexus they don't have the mystique and character of a Jag. After 3 years I still love it and I'am considering buying a second one...or and Xk8...or a x351.

Default The truly wize demand wize vehicle purchases.

LS430 isn't necessarily a young person car either, but undoubtedly has a wider target audience. Thing about Jags, particularly the XJ, old folks have been around d lo g enough to k ow the history, and to have lasted for one long enough that when a) they are financially secure enough and b)recognize the insane value of a depreciated, but recent model year (relatively ) with low miles (relatively ) and thus are WISE enough to know "what's what" as the expression goes.

Similar motives and factors are why CORVETTE owners median age must be in the 50 to mid 50's. 🤔 Get a bunch of Corvette drivers together and one of the top 3 discussions are always performance, err, I mean Fuel Milage. Not kidding at all. Any Corvette owner is aware of this. Seems to also be related to long memories of Chevy V8 (Any V8, but generally over 5 liter) being a tad thirsty. In the last 2 decades Fuel efficiency has reached unfathomable levels.

Our small (relatively ) 4.2 - the only available engine in the US and ZF 6HP coupled with the Aluminum (Aluminum for the Brits) monocoque combine to make unbelievable efficiencies. Mike Hamilton just reported 29 mpg on a several hundred mile journey, and no he didn't putt along @ 43 MPH on the shoulder to do so. He drive normally (relatively ).

Tge X350 is one of the best kept value secrets in all the automotive universe. People shake their heads and say "wish I could afford that" looking at my 16 year old Vanden Plas (as they did 10 years ago). Then turn around, get in their 25-35k Camry/Buick/Infiniti/Mazda/etc.

The value "secret" has a key to unlock it. Do your own service & repairs or find a fair shop to deal with. ALL cars are expensive to fix (relatively ) but when shops see the Leaper, the greedy Growler in them comes out.

Very well said, one other point is resale value of when buying a 15+ year old high end luxury car is going to be near 100% if you don't hit anything and maintain it properly.

Take any new dinky econobox and after 2 years of lame driving experience you've depreciated it $15k or more. That's typically way more costly than 2 years of repair bills on any non-German/Italian luxury vehicle.

After some 32 years of Jaguar Ownership and at the acceptable age of 49; I have come to the conclusion that when someone says something negative about something- it is almost always the case of it being something they do not own, or would feel any form of inspiration to own. It is simply down to personal tastes. It is like saying anyone who wears orange is a moron, because I it is not a colour I would pick.

I enjoyed this post, good to see the Jaguar age range is still as vibrant as ever. If someone asks you why you drive an old mans car- take them for a spin in it, they will soon see why.
