Will Brembo fit on XJ8 VDP w 19in wheels?
I"m so tired of going through brakes on our 2006 XJ8 VDP. They warp so easily and wear out quickly. Yes, this is mostly due to high speed driving.
So, if anyone knows, can I fit the Brembo brakes from a XJR onto my VDP with 19 inch factory wheels? I want to at least replace the fronts with the larger diameter Brembo discs and larger brake caliper/pads.
Thanks all !

Yes, they will fit. I have a MY2004 super V8 and in summer I drive the same Custom wheels that you have. In winter I have 18" wheels (Luxury), as they also fit with the Brembos.
BUT: as you drive a 2006, I would consider another option. Jaguar updated the whole of the braking system from 2005 onwards, discarding the Brembo braking system, which by the way is known for easily warped discs.
What Jaguar kept was two different sizes of discs, bigger ones for the supercharged models, as before. So my suggestion would be to see whether you can fit the bigger discs of the newer system.
I have attached the technical guide were you can see the details of the revised braking system in comparison to the older one.
Best regards,
Thomas

I can't answer your question. However there are less expensive alternatives which will fit inside 19in wheels. For example my 2012 XF Portfolio has 355mm front rotors and 326 mm rear rotors and there are numerous aftermarket rotors and pad kits available, such as Power Stop etc. Since the weight of my 2012 XF is 4072ibs the brakes should work well on a 2006 Vanden Plas.

I have a 2006 XJR with 19" wheels and just put Brembos on the front. 2,000 gentle highway miles and they've already warped on me. This car has a predisposition to warping rotors. When I first got it, I went through two sets in 3 months, then put AutoZone 's Duralast Gold on the car. Those rotors AND pads then lasted 120,000 miles before I finally had to change them. I know Brembos have a great reputation, I have them on my Range Rover Sport with the 6 pot calipers and they're amazing, but not so much on my XJR. Good luck though.
