My wife has a 98 XJ8 VP that has been running very well for the last few years, has around 140k miles on it, no engine lights on. Cam tentioner work has been done. Went to the store a few nights ago and parked in the drive when she returned, the next day engine turns over but will not start. I checked for fuel pressure at the fuel rail on the motor and have fuel pressure. I assume it could be electrical. Please help because to cold to ride my motorcycle.
Thanks
Bill

See if this procedure helps! You car could be suffering from cylinder washing so at the end of the procedure you will see information related to Nikasil you will want to read that.

Also sounds typical of when the fuel pump safety switch trips. Not sure where it is on your year...on mine a passenger kicked it once and caused me untold grief trying to figure out why it wouldn't start...when simple reset was all it needed!

I would like to thank you guys for all the help,I did have cylinder wash and fixed it in about a hour. After checking for spark then taking a compression check I did the fix and it started right up (smoked like a freight train) Now how do I keep from running into the same problem again??
Thanks
Bill

You should read the information on my page and add a produce called Restore to your oil.
