Default Windscreen washer water X350 2007

The water spray is just a very small dribble. I have pulled the tube from the wiper arm to check if the jets are blocked but the water volume is just the same coming out of the tubes. The pump motor is running OK so I am thinking it maybe the pump itself, working a little bit but not much. Any thoughts on this and how is the best way to access the pump?

on my 06 str it was a layer of gunk built up on the pump motor inlet screen in the reservoir. Cleaned it and it worked

I expect you'll need to remove the wheelarch liner to access the reservoir .......

There is one defect in the entire windscreen washer design in that the left side of the windscreen will always receive the lion's share of the fluid, and leaving the right side with only a trickle of fluid at best.

So, I am in the process of getting at the washer pump to check the filter. It looks like I need to remove the whole washer reservoir but to do that I need to disconnect the electrical plug but that is where I am stuck. I am assuming the plug just separates, I have tried to pull it apart but it wont budge and I am afraid to pull too hard and cause some damage. HELP

This is the plug I need to disconnect.

Is that a clip on the left side?

It does look like it might be a clip but I cannot see any way of "unclipping" it.

That is the clip, I think the tab you need to press will be on top of that bump. They can be a bit fiddley to get to so it may be easier to unclip it with the pump out. On my 2004 car the pumps just pull out, there are 2 if you have headlight washers.

No doubt it will submit but then it will probably never go back together again.

Jaguar harness connectors can be challenging. For some you squeeze both sides together to release but most have a locking tab. Unfortunately there's no consistency on whether the tab has to be lifted or depressed to release it. Some lift whereas other depress. The slot on this one shows it's the locking tab type. Slide a small screwdriver into the slot and feel for the tab. It will only move either up or down and then the two halves of the connector will pull apart.

Just done this job on my 2005 and you have to take the filler tube out as well. If you remove the plastic cover that hides the pollen filter and washer fill cap you'll see that it's just held on with a plastic rivet then it pulls out towards the engine. Worth giving everything a clean while you're in there as the drain hole gets blocked with leaves and rain water overflows onto the ECU. All the pipes that run across the tank just move out of the way and the tank pulls out far enough to disconnect the pumps but it's a bit of a fiddle.
have fun
Pete

Thanks for all the suggestions and help. The job is done, however it took WAY longer than it should have. Getting the the plastic bottle out to access the pump was quite difficult mainly because I couldn't disconnect the plug and the wires are not long enough to wriggle past the bottle. Even when I had the bottle out and I could access the plug it still wouldn't come apart no matter how I poked, pushed, pulled, abused, cursed. Because I had to maneuver the bottle and pull a bit harder than i would have liked the plastic fitting on the water line from the headlight pump snapped, BUGGER, Any way I am am not too concerned as I wont be doing the sort of driving to get the lights that dirty that they need washing, I will stop and do it manually if absolutely necessary. I plugged the broken pump hole with a stainless screw and silicone sealant.
Now for the amazing part, the washer pump filter is 6mm diameter !!!!!!!!!!!. It appears that about 2 nano seconds at best were spent by Jaguar designing/calculating the filter size. UNBELIEVABLE. Of course it was very well blocked up.
Getting every thing back again was not too bad and I now have a very good spray of water on the screen, actually 3 sprays per wiper.
If I have the Jag long enough to need to repeat the process I will replace the broken headlight pump at that time.
So now my next job is to sort out why the passenger door mirror does not fold.
