wiper blade change

Aha, so you, also, have found the hidden design fault of the X350 saloon !
Actually, the arm will come up far enough to allow you to remove it. I've now done it twice. As I recall, one pulls off the wash tube, then a push allows the arm to slide off. The bit that slides can rotate to allow the arm to be finally removed. Not obvious at first glance, I agree.

Just did mine this weekend. You can do them basically lying along the windshield, be careful not to lift them too high and damage the hood paint.
Lift the locking tab from underneath and slide the assembly towards the pivot end - these are the style that snap into the U shaped end. Disengage the squirter by snapping it off the central cross-pin of the blade assembly.
Now either reassemble using your new blade assembly, or do like I did, just change the refill with a Trico narrow refill. The two refills cost about $15 bucks.

I agree, the only way to go is the refill. The first time after going crazy looking for the right arms I bit the bullet and bought them from the dealer but thought $60 every time I change wiper blades and I do it often is nuts. Now that I know where to get the refills at a fraction of the cost of whole arms and since I have a spare pair of arms I buy two sets of refills so I always have a set of arms in the garage with fresh refills waiting to be installed.

Refill instead of replace
No, but try go to my post regarding this. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...xj-vdp-110698/ Then just head over to the counter at O'Rielly Auto parts and go to the counter for refills. Bring along the part number.

No refils for me
Unfortunately refills are not an option for me. Someone, one of the previous 2 owners decided to swap out or get the blades swapped out with some one piece "aero" blades that are common now - the ones on the car have a marking from Goodyear and a little research shows them to be Goodyear assurance. They have no metal frame, just a rib that runs the length of the blade. Do I now have no other choice but these blades? I would love to put the original blade / frames back and wonder if its worth looking for a used set.
Any ideas? I think even if I get the Assurance blades I will need to hack the setup a little to get the washer nozzle to fit, it does not come with the blades. What are my options here?
