OK, I got these in and I can confirm they do indeed fit the factory spray nozzle bracket.

Cool Any O'Riley or other Auto Parts Place

I am puzzled why some people seem to have such a hard time finding wiper refills for these cars. I got mine at the first O'Riley Auto Parts that I stopped at - they even changed them for me at no cost - I didn't expect or even really want them to actualy change the inserts, but the guy just jumped on it as soon as I asked where the refills were. Took all of 5 minutes.

Standard ANCO Narrow Wiper Refills - you need one N-24R and one N-19R.

ANCO is a very common brand, but any other brand of "Narrow Wiper Refills" in 24" and 19" should work fine as well.

Default wiper refills

I guess the reason is, that refills (as opposed to wiper arms? not sure of the right term here) are becoming harder and harder to find. Used to be you could go just about anywhere and get a refill for 3 bucks. Now the arms are 10 bucks and up. My local parts supplier told me all the manufacturers are eliminating the refills because they make more money on the entire wiper arm. And as per usual, the Jag dealerships want YOUR arm (and a leg) for the arms.

Don't you lose the nifty aerodynamic piece on the driver side blade?

I use the Trico break/snap to fit refills from Advance Auto Parts for the passegner side, but for the driver's side, I bought a RainX blade, remove the "refill" part, and put it in my OEM bracket. Looks like it worked perfectly!

I just purchased wiper blades from the dealer for $19/ea. That's not too bad. Of course, they wanted $50 for the install which I declined.

Has anyone tried the Michelin Stealth or Rain-X Repel? They look huge but supposedly will fit.

Went to Advance Auto Parts. Their computer said to use the Rain-X Repel, only problem is the washer insert is too wide. Rain-X says it should fit. So I tried all of the other brands too, including Trico, none of them fit.

I know the easiest solution is to go to the dealer but why don't the aftermarket ones work? Anyone have any luck with any thing other than refills that no one here has available?

Thanks.

Trico Teflon line will fit, no adjustments, no mods. Take a second look at them. Advance Auto (in Frederick, MD, at least) carries them

Standard aftermarket refills DO work. As I said in my post above, you just need to buy the standard narrow refills (refills come in both narrow and wide).

Did you read my post above? Rain-X WILL work if you just remove the refill for the driver blade and discard the bracket. It's probably better to keep the stock bracket anyway for high speed driving in the rain.

For the passenger side, just use the Trico break-and-fit refills.

EDIT--I guess my trick only works with Rain-X Latitudes

Problem solved at another Advanced Auto...Trico Teflon Shield Hybrid Beam 20-190 and 20-240 are perfect fits and a very clean look, better than the old metal factory ones.

Default Buy the blade, not the arm

Went out in the rain today and the passenger side blade began to break apart (2007 XJ8). Stopped by Advance Auto Parts and bought the 19" replacement arm recommended by their nifty computer that helps you find the right part.

Brought it home and realized the washer fluid nozzle is attached to arm, making disassembly trickier than your standard mass market car.

Owner's manual doesn't address blade replacement. After several Internet searches and reading how others have replaced the arm with a bit of jimmying, some finesse, and some basic tools I panicked, knowing I'd break something and make the problem worse (that's my style).

Then I hear all those voices that said "don't buy the Jaguar, you'll be sorry" and I brace myself. This is one of those moments you're going to wish you bought a boring, reliable car I tell myself.

Do I bite the bullet and swing by the dealer, grit my teeth, and pay the insane mark-up for a routine maintenance item?

Then the wife pulls up, sees me tinkering the garage with the hood up. "Just replace the blade, not the arm," she calls over her shoulder.

A quick trip back to Advance, exchange entire arm for a simple blade, and lo and behold this Jaguar takes the standard interchangeable part that fits every other car on the road. Installation took five minutes (two minutes to find pliers to pinch the old blade and slide it off, one minute to admire the car, two minutes to remove old blade and slide new one in).

The kit came with two blades for $8.99. Trico 47-600 Break-to-fit Wiper Blade Refills, fits 6mm Square Claw Blades.

For those of you who don't know the difference (I didn't when I woke up this morning), the arm is the entire metal and rubber assembly that swings across the windshield, the blade is just the thin slice of rubber that physically touches the windshield.

(All you do-it-yourself wiz kids who put air shocks in all by yourself for fun and sport can stop laughing).

Glad you got it done okay. The stores around here did not have the refills, but fortunately as mentioned in the post above, they had the Trico beam style which is a perfect fit, washers and all and an upgraded modern streamlined look and performance.

JA,
CarQuest in Fl carries refills for Jag wipers. Come to think of it they carry a whole lot of Jag stuff that you would not think of, such as brake pads, disks, etc.

Interesting.

But I really like the new Teflon beam style blades I went with, perfect fit, functionality and not as generic looking as the metal standards found on most cars.

Default another bracketless blade - Autotex pink

They fit and work great for me. Very positive reviews at Amazon. A portion of proceeds goes to breast cancer research:

Hi
I have been looking for after market wiper blade for our 2001 XJ8. We bought the Michelin wiper blade at Walmart for $6.97, but it did not seem to lock in J hook on the wiper blade arm.

We found Good Year Assurance wiper blade at Costco for $7.99 and it works perfectly. No problems with installing it, just clicks in place.

We have been using it for about a 4 months now. Works a whole lot better than the Jaguar wiper blade (smoother and does a better job clearing the windshield).

Here is the link to the Goodyear Assurance wiper blade site:

Wanted to update this thread. My advanced autoparts no longer carries any of the part numbers listed here. They no longer have the 24" generic refill either.

I went to the NAPA warehouse/distribution center here in town and they were able to cross reference the ANCO part numbers (N-24R & N-19R) to their NAPA part 60-2498 and 60-1998 ($5.99 & $4.99) and they each came with 2 blades so I have a spare set. Simple to install. Hardest part was getting the washer hose off the arm so I could work on my bench.

You took arms off? I just slid the inserts to the blade and kept the arm on.
