Wiper blades for 07 XJ8
#2
I bought mine from eBay, but the right side ended up being 18" instead of 19". I may have ordered the wrong one, so you may not want to order the same, but at least you'll have the supplier name. Below, are links to the ones I bought.Right: https://www.ebay.com/itm/324399212931

The wiper blades that mhannaoui suggest are correct, but are not beam type wiper blades. The wiper blades he suggests are exactly what Jaguar supplied originally. The longer wiper has an air foil on it to keep the blade pushed against the windshield at highway speeds. They are also available on autobarn.net

OEM match for blades with rubber are Trico 24" for driver's side and 19" passenger's side. If wanting to keep the wiper frame with the air foil a 24" Trico re-fill will work. That's assuming the frame is in good shape. Transferring the washer spritzer is not a problem.
Frankly, I just buy the Trico blade assembly and be done with it. There is a hand dance to get the blades on/off. Passenger side is rather straight forward. Driver's side requires beer.

I had the same dance every season. I decided to change it permanently: Donors: arms - Passat B6, sprinklers - Citroen Xara. I cut only the ends of the Passat's arms and welded it into the Jag's arms. The choice was not accidental: aesthetic mounting and convenient operation, the same thickness and width of the sticks, the same dimensions of the feather set as in the Jag. The effects as below seem cool, the effectiveness is very ok. Of course, You can look for heated nozzles.

Sounds extravagant, but I just use OEM wipers from the dealer. That's after struggling to fit a set of Bosch wipers. They were too wide at the connection to the wiper arm and wouldn't pivot to follow the contour of the screen. They should have worked - but didn't. OEM went straight in - perfect - no fuss. I'm probably the last person to talk about alternative parts though, I just use OEM for for everything if its available. Some of the dealers have good deals on parts - the prices do vary a lot between dealers.

In the past I used Trico "break to fit", which allows you to leave the frame and jet alone and just slide the old rubber blade out and slide the new one in.
Passenger's side (6mm): Trico 47-600 (need to "break to fit" to get it down to 19")
Driver's side (6mm): Trico 45-245 (exact 24" fit)
It took all of 30 seconds to pull the old ones out, and another 30 to pull the new ones in - video below shows the technique.
Trico 47-600 are still widely available, but 45-245 are nearly extinct! I can only find them on eBay for $19 + shipping for two (knock offs?) or $22 for one blade through Amazon Canada (can't find them on Amazon US). The auto part chains near me no longer carry break to fit, and online searching brings no joy. The Trico TTR610 mentioned in this thread appear to be sold in Australia/New Zealand market (expect about $100 to ship to the US).
I took a spin to the dealer today and they wanted to sell the entire framed unit for a total cost of $110 for the pair. The parts guy seemed embarrassed to hand me the quote.
My solution this time around:
Passenger side: Trico 47-600
Driver's side Frameless (just have to reuse the metal inserts currently on the car).
Driver's side options:
eBay (knock off?) eBay
Amazon Canada - 2 left in stock, and Amazon US no longer sells them
Frameless (reuse the metal inserts already on the car)
NOTE: In the video below, the dude has taken the frames off the car. I do not. I leave them on the windshield and just replace the blades.

I had been using the Trico replacements but they didn't last well for me. I recently put on a set of Bosh AeroTwin which work very well. They were $32 for the set and they have the water jet attached. Quick and easy to switch out. Never had issues with Bosh blades on my Mercedes so gave them a try on the Jag. Can get them on Amazon.

I think a wiper blade from a New Zealand Jaguar dealer would be around NZ$200 or more. (over US$100). It's very unlikely they would even have it.
I had to buy a water hose on the engine that JLR classic parts have for UK Pounds 49.30. I was on a tight schedule so got the only one in New Zealand sent down to my local dealer. It ended up costing NZ$177. So that's about 60% markup on the UK price. The UK pound is about NZ$2.00.

I'll help when I can!
Hey Pete M! If you are ever stuck thinking that the only replacement parts you need have to be Jaguar, I would be happy to do a search with your VIN in our parts look up and see if there are any other options for you. There are a few companies Erlinger, Britpart, Mahle (great for gaskets) and Eurospare (although I would not recommend Eurospare for any gaskets-we have not had good luck with those and ended up warrantying too many repairs to buy them anymore) that we regularly buy parts from that are the same quality but much more affordable. Lemfoerder has really good quality suspension components as well as Arnott.
Feel free to send me a message if you ever need any help! I hate that they mark up the prices so high!

Thanks SSW,
Many of those names are unknown to us down here at the end of the world, but I appreciate your offer to help. Some of the forums for other Jaguar models have cross-reference lists for parts. Perhaps there is one here. I think that in the USA, some Lincoln suspension parts are identical and cheaper than Jaguar.
We can use the internet, but experience like yours is very useful.
Kind regards
Pete M
