Default Wiper Replacemnt

Jaguar X350 2007.
Is there an easy way to replace the wiper blades on this model?
The arm does not lift all the way up like it would do on most cars due to fouling on the edge of the bonnet.
Is it possible to stop the wipers at vertical to allow the blades to be changed easily - without removing tha battery that is!!

Seems to me as though the may be a hack for this that the dealer would use when it is time to replace wipers as it seems a bit of a pain of a job from what I have seen so far.... Don't really want to go down the road of removing the wiper arms either but that is what I am considering at the moment!

Cheers...............

Open the bonnet. Put a towel under the wiper before you remove it (wont scratch the glass.) Most of us just replace the rubber blade. Slide out, slide in.

Had a play with these at work this evening and they actually come off fine - a bit of a fiddle but they do slide off in exactly the same way as any other blade, rather than being vertical you just have to slide the wiper along the line of the windscreen once you have released the hook from the clip on the blade and off they come!

I bought some BOSCH Aero blades that have the washer nozzle already attached from Euro Car Parts (UK) for approx. £25.00 an they have done the job spot on!

You guys across the pond are very lucky to be able to purchase the Aero blades locally. We over here are not so lucky.

I just asked the guy at AutoZone to do it for me. (Sometimes getting old pays off) He to just replaced the blades, cost 1/2 the price of new assembly's about $8.00.

Try this. Turn the ignition to the second position- just before starting the car - and pull the wiper lever once towards you like you were going to wipe the windshield once. It should wipe half way and stop. This gives you enough clearance to lift the arm and remove the wiper.

Just did mine this weekend. Changed the wiper inserts, didn't even have to remove wipers. Was real easy too!

See video

Don't remove wipers and make sure to buy the correct wiper inserts.

5 min per side.

I'll try this park option out tuesday, and report back. I think they might have left out the part about turning the key off at mid point.

Mark,

No need to park the wipers. Just squeeze the wiper ends like in the video with a slight lift of them where they are. They slide right out and easily back in without removal or parking them. Less than 2min out and 3min in - done!

I've changed the blades many times without "parking the wiper arm. Thats because you cannot park the arm mid point on a X350. The last post doesn't park them either. If changing the whole blade assy, you have to open the bonnet to get the arms up high enough to remove the whole wiper assy.

Google 'Eurocarparts'. They are a UK outfit and stock Bosch replacement wiper blades, including the AR608S, and they do ship stuff abroad. Doesn't cost anything to have a look at their webpage.

(No connection other than being a satisfied customer).
