Recently my windshield wipers have started to turn themselves on when the stalk is completely in the off position. I suspected the rain sensor as the problem and disconnected it, but that hasn't stopped the wipers from going off anytime they so choose.

For quite some time now, when I hit a bump hard the wipers will swipe once. Maybe related? A short?

So when the stalk is in the off position the wipers may start up and stay on for quite some time. While that's happening, if I turn the stalk to the fast position the wipers will go fast, but they won't turn off when I move the stalk to the off position. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks!

Thanks for asking. I replaced the wiper control stalk, and that seems to have taken care of the problem.
