Wipers stuck straightup - how can I fix?
Last week we had three inches of very heavy snow. I didn't clear my windshield before starting the car and turning on the wipers. The wipers moved about a third of the way up and stopped. I turned off the wipers and cleared the windshield and tried again. Nothing happened. I turned off the car and turned it back on and tried the wipers again. Nothing happened. I pushed the button for the windshield washer and the wipers began working but they stopped in a full upright position. The wipers work when turned on, and stop when turned off, but they always stop straight up and down.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks,
Mary

Meirion1, I followed that link and I'm sort of wondering if that guy actually got ripped off. I think there's a relay that controls the park position and a switch inside the motor. Most likely if he fixed it, he just replaced the relay. Can you really have a mechanical problem? This is the first Jaguar I've owned and I'm having the same problem but I'm fairly confident that it's an electrical problem. I don't know why I can't just search for where the damn relay is so I can check it. I'm sooo frustrated.
