Default Wishbones

Hello, has anyone experience changing the front curved wishbones? Should I replace the entire arm or only the bushes?

Yes. Last year my local independent replaced the trunnion bushes in the curved arms of my previous X350. The bushes are available separately and are a fairly easy swap if you have the right tools and a press. They are of the hydrabush type and if not replaced, you'll spend the money on tyres instead, as the tracking will be out at speed and the outer shoulders of the tyres will wear out.

I had them pressed out by my parts provider and reinstalled them. The driving has improved but the wheel shakes at 70mph when I brake. I just read the thread on "steering shake." I think I will try to replace the upper arm (V-shaped) bushings. Then have it lined out and hope the shaking is gone.
As for my initial question, it was worth changing the bushes only. It costed only 90€.
Thanks for answering.

My 2007 X358 Sovereign bought late Oct 2016 had steering shake on braking, and I got the discs trued up at a garage that had a machine that faced them on the car. It was like a miracle cure, and cost me £45 plus our UK VAT 20% = £54. The selling dealer paid this cost as the car was still warranted.

Generally, only garages specialising in cars that have expensive brake discs have the equipment. The garage that did my discs is a Mitsubishi Evo rally car specialist.

Agreed, this is more symptomatic of warped discs.

That is indeed something I can do first. I can have my discs cut at this store for 25€. I did it earlier for another car and it was amazing. Thanks for the tip. I'll keep posted.
