X350 2005 3.55ltr language switch

Hello have a 2005 xj8 with books and readouts in Japanese. I'm told there is a way to switch to English. have tried holding MLS/KMS button in but no luck. any help?

Does your XJ have the touch screen in the middle, or knobs and an LCD?
