Default X350 Climate Control System Photos

I snagged these from an eBay ad and thought people might find them useful I frequently check there for images when planning a project ... or when I get stuck.

The latter was today's reason. I'm working through the heater core swap and can't seem to locate the last air box bolt/nut/screw. The manual shows one on the vicinity of the coolant lines coming through the firewall, but it's in a blind spot if it's there.

I didn't see anything on the attached that helps, so if you know where that last critter is hiding, I'd appreciate the word.

Thanks in advance.

Good pictures thanks!

I can see two metal brackets and screws on the coolant pipes just near the fire wall penetration but

on the inside of the car-these must be very difficult to get to when the thing is in situ.

As a matter interest according to the Electrical guide the blend doors are as follows:

Air intake x 1

Air mix x2 (LH and RH)

Air mode x2 (LH and RH)

Cool air bypass/defrost x2 (LH and RH)

The air intake is the large opening with it's air intake servo and there are three servos on each side of the "box"

making a total of seven servos.

Default ... Ah ... Here it is. The elusive last screw.

I thought this was going to be the hardest part of this project, but nooooooo. Keep reading the other photo posts.

Anyway, this little bugger can be reached over the top of the housing, but you are definitely operating blind. The screw is a 10mm bolt head with Phillips screw at the center. I used a shorty screw driver coming and going.

Hope this helps.

Default Biggest Tear-down Headache?

These little things. I'm sure there is a trick, but it escapes me. Let me just say, I wish they had used something different to hold the under-hood trim together.

How do you get those stupid things off? I can't seem to get them to move.

I have used a open end tube and pliers....take the open end tube and press the center it will release those aggravating teeth, then at same time grab the outside rim with pliers and pull upward .The teethwill basiclyslide up the tube smoothly.Takes some getting use to and crafty wiggling but it works....

What kind of tube? Flexible hose? Hard plastic? I like the idea, but am having a hard time picturing who it would work.

Tap a section of thin wall brass tubing into those to disengage the "teeth".
