Is X350 easy to work on?
#2
Well, a friend who is quite mechanically inclined, along with myself, did a plug change last week in my X350 and admittedly I was intimidated out of my shoes at the thought. He, on the other hand, looked at the project and said it would be quite a breeze and it was. A bit over an hour.
He did a once over of the entire car and we agreed most routine maintenance could be performed sans dealer visits. Standard tools can be used for the most part, but I surmise when you get into the sophistocated air suspension components along with many other Jaguar-specific elements of the car it would get quite complicated.
Overall, brakes, oil changes, belt changes, plug changes, etc, can be done by a savvy owner. The tranny flush, from what I've read is best left to the pros, at least on my end I would feel more comfortable doing so.
I do hope this helps somewhat. X350's are truly fun cars to own and so far, so good with mine!
