Hi, this is my first post and its packed with a couple questions as I really want to turn my XJ8 into a monster.
I have a X350 that's been sitting on my driveway for several years now and for that time I've had the urge to replace the underpowered 3.6 litre AJV8 with something a little more interesting with more than 500hp...
After having looked into it the major reason they remain untouched is due to the can bus but XKRs are being LS swapped and don't they share the same can architecture as the X350?
I've also looked into the possibility of using an Arduino to replicate messages for CANBUS if there was a different Engine, Gearbox and diff ratio etc to make the the CANBUS system believe the car is stock. However this will take a year or 2 for me to figure it out and also save up for the parts themselves so in the meantime I'll make her roadworthy again.

 

I would also like to add that whilst it may be cheaper and easier to use a different car, perhaps a x308 but I love the X350, the interior and the way it rides amongst other things just to prevent the "it would be cheaper/easier to do this with jaguar x300/308..."😅
