Cool X350 Forum: Big Compliments!!!

After lurking here a while and reading threads, I finally bought an '07 XJR, and will fly to Orlando (I live in Pilot Mt, NC) to pick it up this week

As a longtime german car DIY'er, I was motivated toward this (crazy?) purchase by this WONDERFUL FORUM!

Already found and downloaded the X350 workshop manual, parts list, etc. Do you know how tough it is to do this with Mercedes, BMW, etc these days?

Many thanks to all of you. I look forward to becoming involved by way of fixing up the old beast and learning of the "Jaguar Way"

Just BTW, '07 was the latest XJR model I could find with classic good jag looks IMHO

Hope you like the style of the car, and the wonderful interior. Traditional British at its best. Well, I would say that, wouldn't I !

Awesome! Congratulations and make sure you post pics. I agree with your comment about the '07, that's why I bought mine. To my eye it was the last year of the classic XJ styling.

I mean, I think the 08 is better looking (of course i'd say that since I have one), but I almost pulled the trigger on the 07 myself!!

Congrats on the purchase! You will absolutely LOVE that long distance drive from FL back to home! This is a true interstate car!

like nlt said, that's gonna be the best drive you've ever had! I bought mine in Daytona beach Florida & drive back to Memphis (1st time I'd ever drove over 3 hrs) & loved every bit of it. I got 600+ miles before having to fill back up...

Congrats on your purchase!..

You're going to love the car. I have a 2004 XJ8 with 147k miles and it looks as good (well, almost) as when I bought it 11 years ago.

I just joined this forum too and I'm finding a wealth of information and friendly people.

Have fun with your new ride.

This is a great forum, and I think we all agree these are the best looking and driving cars on the road. Good luck with it.

Btw, isn't Mt Pilot down the road from Mayberry? Careful of Deputy Fife and his speed traps.

Good to hear you found useful information on the forum to help with your purchase.

Enjoy the 600 mile (?) drive home.

To expound on Hisport's post just a bit. I have been a member of several auto forums now and in the past. My wife's cars, my cars and cars I was interested in were my passion.

I no longer own a Jag, after a life time of interest, as I just aged out of the brand.

However, let me tell you, this forum is the most active, adult, civil, wide ranging and informative of all the forums I have visited. Yes, there is the occasional immature voice that is none of the above, but overall this is the forum I log on to every day.

I miss some of the voices from the past but still the new boys/girls are of similar quality.

I flew to Fort Lauderdale to buy my 2006 portfolio, 1300 miles back to Texas
completely spoiled me. I only allow myself to drive it every two weeks to maintain my withdrawal symptoms.

You'll love you new purchase. I've had eight Jags since my first, a new 1968 XKE.

A brand new E type in 1968!!

In 1968 I had a very attractive fiance but only a second hand Ford Consul.

I have still got her, the fiance that is, (promoted her to wife) LOL.
