X350 Highway MPG how are we doing?

OK I have to confess. That's 36.6mpg in Imperial Gallons. It works out as 30.5mpg in US gallons, 7.7 litres per 100km.
That was on a 680km round trip in Switzerland, cool weather, and I was doing my best to drive economically, I drove the whole way looking at the instant fuel readout & tried to keep it on 7L/100km as much as possible.
I have never driven a fast car so slowly, I got passed by everyone on the highway; cars, trucks, buses, you name it they overtook me.
Have not come close to that mileage since. Best on the last long trip was 8.8L/100km which is 32.1mpg (UK) and 26.7mpg (US)

The stalks are VERY inexpensive & extremely easy to replace. I replaced mine, only because the 'chrome' had wore off the button, leaving it cream looking, but it did work; but it's simple to replace though...
