X350 LWB Sovereign
I have an X350 LWB with individual rear seats and entertainment console. The front armrest, with cup holder flip up needs to be replaced. I have acquired a new armrest but am struggling to remove the plastic cover which allows access to the fixing. Any ideas? I have managed to release the front section but the rear, sloped section, is proving difficult and I don't want to break it.

I've done a similar job on my 20015 VDP (the US version of the Sovereign)
Congratulations though - the hardest part is finding a replacement armrest - the version with rear AC ('4-zone AC') uses a different armrest because of the rear AC condenser.
They're EXTREMELY difficult to find now....
Anyway. there should be 2 (?) small black grommets under the armrest, and there are 3 or 4mm allen bolts under these. Remove them, then gently pry the front back and down. Should come off.
There are some instructions in the workshop manual - it's here on this site somewhere (in 5 or 6 parts);
Good luck !

Thanks but this information does not really help? I have acquired a complete new armrest, which has the spring loaded metal mounting/hinge . I just can't see how to access the fixings for the mounting? I have examined the new armrest but can't see any removable grommets. It would be much easier to detach the armrest from the mounting but can't see how one accesses the fixings???m

OK, just so we're talking about the same thing: since I have a US-spec car, and Jaguar may have made some changes.
What exactly is is broken ? It's usually the (kinda crappy anyway) cupholder(s), when you catch them with an arm - mine is on its 3rd one now !
I also got a compete assembly consisting of a curved hinge, armrest and cupholder from a scrapyard in southern UK (they said it was from a 2007 XK, which is why I think there have been country-specific changes).
I chose to keep the hinge in place, just unscrew the armrest and replace that. Mine has distinct rubber 'bungs' (like bump-stops) underneath, that hide the attachment allen bolts.
If you're replacing the hinge too, I didn't need to do that and can offer no suggestions. Sorry !
Good Luck. Save the bits - these armrests are no longer available in the Jaguar parts system in the US.
