Default X350 roof console lights not working

Hi, recently had the headlining replaced on my 2004 X350 and the three lights in the roof console no longer work. The centre button switches the lights in the rear grab handles ok, but none of the lights at the overhead console work when the doors are opened or the buttons pressed. I've removed the console and checked the bulbs and they look ok.

Does the console supply a voltage to the lights across the two pins on each side? I put a voltmeter on them with the console plugged in and it didn't read anything when I pressed the light switches. The centre light doesn't seem to have any pins, how does that one get power?

The parking sensor button seems to work ok, and as I mentioned the centre button does switch on the lights in the rear.

Any suggestions? TIA.

There are contact pins that connect when you push the console into place. You may want to try shifting and or pushing it tight against the roof to see if you have marginal connections. Most likely reason if ALL THREE lights are out.

There is also several plug connections in there as I recall - The mic, and one or two other plugs of which one may have been left unconnected.

Everything was connected up in there (there's no mic, just one bus lead) but the console wasn't fitted particularly well so it could be that.

Unfortunately I haven't managed to reinstall the console yet, when I removed it I pulled the front down and slid the rear off, but there's no way I can slide the rear back on again...

In the meantime if I put a voltmeter on the pin sockets in the console (when it's connected and the button pressed) shouldn't I see something?

Can I apply a (12v?) power source to the pins in the roof to test if the lights work?

I checked fuse F11 in the boot (rear footwell lamps, grab handle lamps, overhead console map lamps), seems ok and the grab handles are already working anyhow; are any other fuses involved?
