It's very interesting to see other X358 Super V8s out there. Looking at Jaguar's marketing history, most sources say the Super V8 was not a listed model for 2008. This might make the cars special order only. I understand that Jaguar would make a car to any spec the customer wanted within reason. Either the sources for Jaguar's model availability are wrong, or a number of customers wanted a Super V8 even though Jaguar didn't list it as an available model. Barring the Portfolio, this was the top spec car.
As I have said before, my Super V8 and others sold in Japan seemed to avoid the X358 'XJ Super V8' badging, being specified as without rear badges. I assume the dealer in Japan then fitted the older x350 style 'XJ8 L Sovereign' badges. I would be interested to hear why that was done. Perhaps the styled 'XJ' wasn't liked or the Japanese owners preferred not to advertise the performance potential of the car.
I won't change my badges now, they are part of the car's history.
