X351 coolant temp glitch???
I have a 2012 XJL 5.0L S/C with 122k miles. p0117-16 code I cannot seem to figure out. I recently removed the engine to perform the timing chain/guides service, supercharger rebuild, intake valve walnut shell blasting, rebuilt injectors, spark plugs, various coolant lines/hoses, water pump and many other seals and gaskets.
I reinstalled the engine and trans and now the car won't start unless you clear a p0117-16 code. The engine will crank for one complete cycle but not start. Clear the code then fires right up. Took the car for a test drive and my scan tool live data is reading ECT at 302°F but the instrument cluster temp guadge is responding normally and the car is showing no signs of overheating. When I park the car and turn the ignition off the fan runs as if its responding to an overheating issue. No coolent leaks or smells. I replaced the rear crossover pipe (sensor 1) twice now, and still no fix.
If anyone has any idea of how the ecu coolent system works that would be greatly appreciated because I'm about to pull my damn hair out with this thing

Pure guess that the new crossover pipe's as-fitted sensor was not a match to what the ECU expected.
Before ordering a THIRD one, can you try to recycle your oldest sensor?

I mixed up the cts plug with the supercharger map sensor ( I assume thats what it is) plug. I can't believe they use the exact same size and color plug. The "MAP" sensor is located on the back of the SC and is a grey plug with one light blue and one grey wire. While the cts is located on the crossover pipe and is a grey plug with one brown/green and one yellow wire. The sensors are about 4 inches apart from each other and they can both reach each sensor.

Soooo. "false alarm" and problem solved with nowt but a couple of withdrawal, partner-swap, and reinsertions?
Given humankind has been resolving infertility in a similar fashion for a million-plus years, nothing new to see, here, after all?
