X358 Cabin Fuse Box F39 Transit Relay
Whilst rummaging around the fuse box to fit a dashcam power supply I found that fuse F39 was fitted with a 5 amp fuse.
The owner's handbook says "Transit relay (removed before customer delivery)"
I have removed it.
Anyone know what it was for "in transit" and what will happen with it removed?
UK spec vehicle if that makes any difference.

I have been given the following explanation:
"The relay goes directly on to the positive terminal.
There will be a random wire not connected to anything nearby.
That's what that fuse used to supply.
The original plan was to pull fuse.
But found that the weight of relay wobbling on terminal caused fatigue failure and gremlins.
So had to remove the whole relay not just the fuse and trust the dealer to tighten the main cable back on properly.
Slightly fewer gremlins."

As far as I'm aware it was always the intention to remove the transit relay (and return it to Jaguar for reuse) when the car was delivered to the selling agent and it was never intended to remain with the car. There is actually a small hole in the frame near the battery (with no connector inside) into which to 'park' the plug-end of the flying lead left loose after the relay was removed.
The purpose of the relay was to leave all the electrics de-energised when the ignition key was removed.
