Default X358 detailed by Anonymous detailing

Well, the car was all washed, cleaned and new mats modded yesterday, wheel cleaned inside n out calipers, vacuumed, engine bay cleaned etc etc.......

All for nothing really, as she's in today with Anonymous detailers getting a full 2 stage treatment bumper to bumper.
The paintwork is / was suffering from swirl marks / holograms / micro marring.....all of this from the previous owners and or recent paintwork job I might add.
Very little added by me ( at least as far as I know )....

Anyhow, dropped the car at Anonymous detailing today, they're based in Paisley almost next door to Prestige Jaguar. Craig's a pretty decent guy and knows his stuff, a big Swisswax fan.

He's kindly sent me a few pics to be going on with for now, which show the great results to date and also just how bad it was.
I'm absolutely buzzing to see the end result and will post more as it happens and of course the end result, with perhaps a pic or two.....

For anyone in or around Glasgow, he's certainly worth checking out. Don't forget to mention you're a Jaguarforums member and recommended by me, I'm sure he'll look after you.

More as it comes

That's an amazing difference. Almost like a completely different color.

I am more than a little disgusted at how bad the paintwork really is tbh.

In my defence, I fully believe that the bulk of it if not all of it if from the previous owners and inherited since I bought the car. That's coupled with the recent paintwork to the front bumper, bonnet, wings, sills and rear bumper........good job but left behind lots of hologramming and micro marrring.

I didn't kick up a fuss as there was no point as the detailer would fix this to a much higher standard anyway

On the left, it's dull, lifeless almost and full of swirl marks etc.....on the right, just a clear view of the paint with flake popping everywhere!

More as it comes

The car is almost finished, there's still a few hours worth of bits n pieces to do according to Craig, but hopefully should be able to collect tomorrow afternoon.

Well, collected the car today and have to say, it's not quite like i was in the pictures shown!!......

It's WAY BETTER!!!!!
Superb, absolutely like night n day, transforms the whole look of the car, needless to say I'm well pleased.

I'll try and get some finished pics once I have time to add to the thread to show how the paint pops giving crystal clear reflections.

Jim,

Car's looking very nice indeed! I think mine shall be letting the side down on Sunday! Sorry!! I've got a set of Mini wheel bearings and a Cayenne water pump to do on Saturday so I'll give mine as good a wash as I can in the free 5 mins I'll have!

Could I be so cheeky to ask what polish/ pad combo your man is using? I've tried a few on mine, very briefly, but haven't found anything that's stood out, yet..

Hi Simon, good to hear from you and thanks for the compliments. It means a lot coming from someone who cares for their car the way you do.

I thought for one minute you were bailing on us there for Sunday....lol
Don't believe for a minute your car will be any less than perfect on the day, you're fooling no one.

Re the detailer - In all honesty I have no idea what pad / polish combo he was using, I only know he's a big swissvax fan.
I can certainly ask him for you and see what I can find out!

Cheers
Jim
