Default X358 LWB Super V8 Portfolio?

Does anyone here own an X358 LWB Super V8 Portfolio?

Did a quick search & didn't get any hits...

If there is one out there, would you care to share some pictures?

Thanks!

I only have the lowly 2006 X350 Portfolio

Here is the write up on the 2009 version

Geneva 2008 Preview: 2009 Jaguar XJ Portfolio Special Edition Unveiled (The Torque Report)

To me the 2009 looks like an attempt to get rid of the cars while making the most amount of money possible before the X351 arrived. It doesn't seem different enough compared to the standard Super V8. The badging looks decidedly aftermarket as it doesn't even match the other badges on the trunk lid. IMHO the biggest omission is the permanent rear centre console. The original 2006 Portfolio came about after Jaguar showed a concept car at the launch of the all new aluminum XJ called the Concept 8. If the story is to be believed, there were enough people interested in the Concept 8 that Jaguar agreed to make them a limited edition XJ based on it. This car arrived in 2006 and was named the Portfolio. Sadly some of the features on the original Concept 8 didn't make it across to the production cars, ie full length glass roof, and not so sadly the red LED interior highlighting. The one key thing that did make it across was the fact that the Concept 8 only had 4 distinct seats, with a full length console running down the middle of the car. Think Porsche Panamera before the Porsche Panamera.

If you go and look at an X358 Portfolio I'd be interested to hear your opinions on what it's like in the flesh.

Thanks Sarc. That answers my questions.

You lucky devil, hang on to that 2006! It's one of only 265 made worldwide. One of 150 that went to North America.

Before I bought my XJR, I did a lot of research into the X350 Portfolio models, since it was my intention to buy one as an investment. For a couple of reasons, I didn't, however I don't want my research to go to waste, i intend to bring everything together & post it online (well, the info I was given permission to share). The only stuff I was missing was on the X358 Portfolio. I only ever saw one for sale online, and stupid me forgot to save the pictures.

There were SWB and LWB versions, and in Europe you could get a diesel one as well.
Navy Blue leather interior with Ivory Piping or vice-versa, depending on the paint you chose. As you mentioned, it was missing some of the special things from the '06.

Reason i'm specifically looking for pics of the X358 LWB Super V8 Portfolio, is that the parts catalog lists a different power vent, a special for "LWB Portfolio" only. Pretty sure these models only went to North America.

@cambo

Thanks. It took me 6 months and a lot of domestic airmiles to find mine but I'm so glad I did. Like you I also did quite a lot of research and the info is thin, so I think it would be a great idea to put it all in one place. If you need any pictures of particular parts of a 2006, I'd be glad to help you out.

I rather like the interiors on these, especially the wood trim.

Sorry. I didn't see that Sarc answered you more eloquently than my lowly classified pics.

Did anyone ever manage to complete the list above... It was mentioned that the 2006 Portfolio had more features than the 2009 Portfolio, apart from the center console what other features where included in the 2006 and not in the 2009.

Does anyone know the numbers produced for the X358 Portfolio, I found numerous sites quoting 145 for the US, but nothing on the worldwide numbers.

Above information / assumptions are not correct.

I have a 2009 XJ Super V8 Portfolio Special Edition, with the original Monroney Window Sticker as well as one of the press kits from the 2008 Geneva Motor Show.

The color combination that I have is Astral Gold with Ivory Leather/Navy piping.

Per the press kit the 2009 Super V8 Portfolios have "the highest level of standardized equipment ever offered."

This includes the rear center console. (it's built into the fold down center armrest)

Press Pack Kit

At-A-Glance Highlights

Where does one go to get these production numbers? I've searched the web and came up with nothing as many sites say Jaguar keeps production figures condfidential.

I was researching my 2008 XJL (X358). I learned the X358's were only made from 2008 through March 2009. At this point the production moved to the new body style. So were talking about 1 year and 3 months or maybe a little more if some 08 models were produced in 07. If anyone has these numbers or can point me to a source I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for the update Micheal, How do you find the Astral Gold, had a look at your profile but could not find any pictures of the exterior.

Had a look at the Celestial Black the other day and it is quite nice, Looks black straight on, though when viewed from an angle or in direct light you can see the shades of blue through it.

Thanks Scotty.... the Astral Gold is a beautiful exterior color. It's essentially a light metallic gold. In some shades of light it can appear to have a very slight purple tint to it.

The stitched leather door casings in Ivory // the darker Champagne color headliner // and the embossed Jaguar leaper logo's on the headrests are my favorite interior features.

Here is a good press kit link on YouTube of the Portfolio Special Edition launch from the 2008 Geneva Motor Show.

Cambo - I've been looking into these this last week as I was looking for some wings\vents. There's a lovely celestial black car that has a sales vid on youtube.. You could get some still from that? Otherwise there's quite a few nice pics on google images.

Sarc - anychance you could take a pic for me of the Jaguar logo on the passengers side of the dash with a rule beneath it? I'm intending to make some stickers\stencils up in order to spray something similar on my car.

There seems to be plenty of pictures and video for the Celestial Black, not much on the Astral Gold, So I guess that makes yours a little more unique.

I picked up my 2009 Portfolio (Celestial Black) last night, needless to say I have a big grin on my face...... Just need to clean it up a little and find a nice spot for some pictures to upload..

Looking forwards to the pictures and welcome to the club. Only 140 shipped to the U.S.

What color interior do you have and how many miles?
