XJ Air Suspension Compressor

XJ Air Suspension Compressor
Hey Guy's,
I have a XJ8 2003.5, and was wondering if anyone knew how the air-compressor sencor worked. ie is it resistive, a switch etc?
We live at the end of a fairly long dirt road, and is always bumpy, and when we leave in the morning, after 1km, the air-suspension light will come on 95% of the time (seems to happen less in winter).
But when starting our journey on a "normal" road, no problems (yet).
The Error that Jaguar said it's reported is low air pressure/failer to pressurise in time. Which wouldn't surprise me that the early morning dirt-road workout probably put the air-suspension into overtime before its managed to sort itself out.
Ultimatly, what I want to do is:-
a) monitor whats going on with the pressure (or what it thinks is going on!)
b) possible overide the sencor while in our lane-way.
The air-suspension has been fully checked out by 2 Jaguar dealier, and they can not find any faults. So it can only really be to do with the dirt lane, and the rough drive first thing.
Thanks
Drew

Hi Drew,
It sounds like you are getting C2303 which is a compressor plausability fault,
ie the system is not up to pressure within the alloted time ?3mins.
This will be due to wear of the compressor piston seal and fortunately there is now an easy and cheap fix ie replace the seal.
Contact 'bagpiping Andy' on this forum (yes he's in Scotland) and purchase one of his seal kits (35 GBP).
I have not done this myself but please let us know how you get on.

Thanks Bob,
A replacement seal kit sounds like a good deal, so will get hold of Andy anyway.
However, its been to 2 Jarguar Master Mechanics (1 for a week!), and all tests have been done (note - not cheap!). Time to pressure, sencors checked, height etc etc, and the entire suspensions system has been given the OK.
When at home, Ive even left it in the garage for 10min to warm up, and the light will come on at 1km +/- 5m (yes that regularly/accurate!), with the 1 common factor, the unsealed lane-way.
So I figure, if I can tap into the electrics, I might be able to find a common pattern (what ever happened to all the old gauges of my XJ12L - they TOLD you stuff!)
Will let you know how I go with the Seal Kit

Hi Drew,
if it is the compressor that is weak, i.e. it works but just provides little air pressure this may be your symptoms, i provide a kit that in most cases can renew the compression back to new.
my compressor repair kits can be found here:
I am low on stock and should get more made at the weekend, i still have some for sale see here: bagpipingandy | eBay
this is my items for sale, i am currently running low on stock but I should have more available after this weekend should they run out, the kit is advertised for different cars but it is an identicle kit of parts only the title alters
any questions please just ask
regards
Andy
