Default XJ Ute

Hi XJ owners
I thought you might like to see an unusual XJ conversion.

I have no affiliation with this auction house and only put it up as an interesting conversion. It doesn't seem to have compliance (in Australia) for this application.

Seems i read somewhere, that the first tow truck, at least in America, was an old Cadillac, with bed & gantry installed in back.

I had an XJ12 Series 1 in that colour in the 1970's. Memories of the fuel consumption still brings shivers.

The link will soon disappear but the thread will stay here forever so here's two of the photos:

Default How about a Jaguar Mud-Type?

Just because you can do something doesn't always mean you should. While this is unique, interesting, creative and even fun as a concept, it is pretty ugly, and is a weird mash-up of genres. I liked the Lincoln Blackwood truck, with the stainless steel hard covered, lighted bed, but freely admit it was really impractical as a vehicle. I often pictured one in the driveway with my VDP, as the perfect pairing IF I needed to have a pickup. Answer: I don't need a pickup. At least not enough that I can't rent or borrow on the few occasions I have the need. Since I need a single, multi-purpose daily driver, a large, 5 door crossover, sportwagon/shooting brake or minivan fits the bill as "most appropriate" multipurpose vehicle.

Except I am not that practical. A sense of style and presence is important to me. So I make concessions.

But this odd duck reminded me of the Jaguar Mud-Type

I'm not entirely sure what I have just seen . I think others would agree, that whilst it may be to some peoples tastes, it is horrendous.

Butt ugly is another term to describe its appearance.
