Question xj350 2006 Window seals

Hi all,
I have recently purchased an XJ350 Sovereign 4.2L V8. The car is in beautiful condition for a 2006 model with 74,000 miles on the clock. There are some issues which have arisen since - including one which is annoying and potentially unsafe. I took the car to a car wash and I later found that when I lower and raise the windows (all 4) they go down dry and come back up wet.
I put the car into a garage to get the oil changed (new car - new oil) and I asked them to check the window seals. They reported that the seals were fine and they couldn't see any problem. The problem has persisted for a few days and I am concerned that this may potentially cause problems with the electrics etc. Can anyone help with advice/solution. I live in London, England.

Sorry to say this, but they all do it ! My last X350 and now my X358. It is a design error, but I never had any trouble from it, and I took the previous X350 from 30k miles to 115k miles. Plenty of other things had to be fixed, though !

Thanks for the input. Any suggestions as to what might help to dry things out?

Not really, I just let it dry out on its own. Incidentally, I lowered the driver window on wife's New Beetle, and that is the same ! Actually, I don't lower windows very often anyway. Its at its worst after a car wash, naturally.

Make sure the drain holes in the bottom of the doors are clear

Thanks all for the replies. My new Jag feels like the car I was always meant to have and I am trying to find out all the things that I might have to deal with. I already have an outline maintenance plan based on the post relating to potential issues with xj350 models. Live long and prosper!

The outside strip on the upper door that places pressure against the glass is lined with material as to not scratch the window over time as the window goes up and down. Anytime it rains or you wash the vehicle it is quite natural for this material to become water-soaked, and is actually a good thing as dust and dirt need to be washed from those strips as not to become sandpaper against the glass over time. The weather strip is not a squeegee. It is quite natural and there is no issue when you run the glass up and down after a carwash. in fact if it didn't, I would be concerned that it is no longer making proper contact with the outside glass. Moral of the story is this, if you must run the window up and down immediately following a carwash or rain, use a soft cloth when you get to your destination to remove any water marks.
