Was slightly set back when I realised that to replace spark plugs and ignition coils you have to dismantle the intake manifold and all connections to it, not to mention hoses and wirings that have to be stowed away. I was guided by the Jaguar Workshop Manual and an instructive video on youtube on how the work was done on an S-type with a 3-litre engine. After struggling for hours with "quick release couplings", to me unknown, and awkward working positions to reach the back of the manifold, I eventually was ready to find out if I had succeeded. On ignition I recieved three fault messages: Engine system failure, handbrake failure, and DSC not available. I didn't dare to start the engine. Should I try, or are there more urgent things to attend to before that?
I really look forward to your advice and experiences of similar work!
PS What is a spark plug boss seal? Two came with the spark plugs but I couldn't find natural places for them...

On the V8 there are two circular Spark Plug Boss Seals which fit into the base of each camshaft cover. I expect the rectangular Spark Plug Boss Seal on the V6 (see item 3) is similarly intended to fit in the base of the camshaft cover.
The purpose af a boss seal is to prevent oil splashing into the spark plug wells.
