Xj6 heater motor

I was wondering if any one give me advice on my jag xj6 x350 2003, I change the heater motor this morning as I was getting no heat in the car plus no air con was told it was heater motor,after changing the motor, when put the heating or air con on you can hear the comes on for few seconds and cuts out straight away, any advice will be much appreciated.

More likely the blower motor module has gone bad. There's a thread on here showing how to repair it for $5 in parts, if you're electronically inclined. Otherwise they're around $200 from the dealer. Aftermarket modules are available, but most posts on this forum indicate they do not last.
You can test the motor by grounding the brown wire going to the motor (key on), which should run the fan in high speed. If that works, you're problem is with the module or elsewhere.
