Considering a purchase of an XJ8 from the 2004-2007 Model Years. Would anyone be able to tell me if the vehicle had any significant changes between those years in terms of bodystyle and reliability? I know for the most part the car has'nt changed much untill 2008 (which in my opinion looks terrible) but before I go out looking for one I would like to know if there are any notable differences among them. Thanks alot for your help

we had some recent posts on the same things, other then minor trim changes and wheels the body style was the same 04-07 as were the usual suspect problems ( air bag suspension is one ot watch out for) although I have heard they are very good overall. If you want to know options avail or black book values let me know, ic an help.

2004-2005 were good cars. 2006 they introduced secondary air injection for emissions. Had a few problems with that, but not enough to stop me from getting one. 2008 was basically a face lift. Different (better) bluetooth system. I like the 2008 more than the previous. It all comes down to preference. Also the 2008 has climate controlled seating. Nice feature.
I would go for a 2005 with Select Edition warranty on it myself. SuperV8 is long wheel base...loaded. TVs etc. The VDP is next down as far as trim level. Long wheel base also, although in 2004 you could get a SWB VDP. XJR is supercharged, SWB car. Sport suspension and very expensive brakes....lol.
All depends what you want from the car. As I have said many times.....SuperV8 is the one for me.
