Hello

my lovely Jag 4.2 develops an electric fault. It comes up that the rear electronic module (in the boot) 5W93-13B524-AC is defect.
I bought a used one from a 2007 2.7 diesel. Based on the failure when you turn the indicator stalk without turning on the headlights everything works fine
but when you turn on the lights and using the indicator the rear light starts to flash as well . So i bought then first the module but the jag did not start anymore the pumps did not get power. I'm not sure is this module is defect as well or is it because it comes from the 2.7 diesel I thought that the module operates only the bulbs and their failure.Im not sure If the indicator stalk is defect which I bought as well but haven't installed it yet. Or is it an earth issue I don't know
Any suggestion or may someone had the same problem let me know.

- What year is your Xj8?
('07 chassis is X356 - electrically v different than earlier X350 models. Check forum stickies parts catalog for correct rear module pn))

- Are you sure problem is rear module?
(Could be as simple as shorted dual filament bulb, or bad headlight/ts switch)

Defective rear modules common on earlier jags; haven't seen much on x350/x356/x358 though....

I have an 2006 4.2 the module was from the 2007 XJ diesel.

 

that's what the garage says I was pretty sure that's the indicator stalk is defect because the problem comes up only when you turn on the headlights or a ground issue.

- Yes, the TS (indicator and headlight) switch would be my first guess as well (though I would spend 5 minutes checking bulbs first)

- Regarding rear modules, early '06 here in the states is X350; late '06 is X356 (look at last five of VIN#; G = X350; H = X356)

Let us know how things go...

 

The stalks are a known problem area. Wires are crammed in there. Check and clean your clock spring as well
