XJ8 (ABS)
Hello and I had a new transmission put in the 2002 xj8..the ABS light comes on, what does this mean?? I am guessing I need brakes in the back.
I just got my car and have been driving it, it has problems still, like the passenger door does not open, the cover behind my seat won't stay on, so
the back of the seat is exposed.
It need new tires, some of them are bald. Is there a place where I can post this car to sell it?
It makes me feel overwelmed at times because money is tight, I still really like this type of car.

Ah, now ... if it's really a 2002 XJ8 then it's an X308, not an X350 (which is this sub-forum). Check your VIN which I assume is on the registration document (it is in the UK). If the last 6 digits start with an F it's a 308, if they start with a G it's a 350.
The X308 sub-forum is at XJ XJ8 / XJR ( X308 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

It looks like an X308
The ABS light is most likely due to a failed sensor or less likely a
wiring fault. A new sensor is not expensive and is easy to replace
but you need to identify which one needs repacement.
There is one on each wheel.
Passenger door problem is possibly due to the actuator fault.
Do not take it to a dealer-they can be very expensive.
Find a recommended local independent garage.

Thanks for the help...I did go on you tube and found some videos, dsetter where do I find the post here on the forum? What happens if I continue driving it ??? It (the ABS) appears only once when I start driving but the car feels funny and feels like it wants to stop. Is it the back tires? I thank you all for the help, now to try to find a mechanic is the problem.

I have since found that it is easier to drill two holes above the connector pins and solder in through the holes rather than remove the whole cover.

I would suggest letting your shop fix all the issues they noted. That would be my advice.
