XJ8 Rises and then drops immediately. Please Help
When i crank the car i hear and see the car lifting but it immediately looses air. I can hear more air on the passenger front side tire. This has been going on for about 2wks and seems to be loosing more air as time permits. Sometimes it says Vehicle Too Low. Im scared to drive because i keep hearing the pump air it up but it keeps going down. Please Help

I think you're right. I've read a few post and i believe so. I took the car about 1/2 mile and back and now that dreaded air suspension fault came on as soon as i was pulling back into the garage. Would the compressor still come on and off, if it is bad? I cannot spot a leak from the hood or trunk.

Im getting the Vehicle Too Low now and the Air Suspension Fault is gone. Yes i did use soapy water. I am really thinking the shock because i hear air when the car shuts off and when you crank it it rises and goes down in 1 minute. I read around here somewhere that the Range Rover strut/shock could fit hence it is less exspensive. Do you know anything about that?

Jaguar wanted £1200 each. I bought same shock from David Manning Group in London for £1080 the pair Inclusive delivered to my door.
Try also any shock fitting company as they get special offers on some shocks and my local Bush Tyres here inn the UK offered me the Bilstein shocks for £490 each (After I had bought the ones I now have)

Replaced shock car won't lift in the front
I have finally got around to having the shock replaced. I wasn't able to get a new shock so i went with a used one from Dallas Recycle and now the car will not lift at all in the front. The mechanic did not disconnect the battery or unhook the air lines before the starting the job. He said it didn't matter and i told him where i seen on here that it did. Vehicle Too Low and Air Suspension Fault is on. The compressor keeps trying but no lift. Does anyone have any idea
if not disconnecting the battery made a difference or is it possible the shock is bad. The shock that was took off was an Arnott. Was that the original shock or could the previous owner have them put on?

Sounds like the replacement maybe not good?
With the compressor trying, disconnecting the battery will not change anything.
Also with the compressor working you might not hear where the air is escaping.
I personally would jack the front of the car up to take pressure off the shocks and let the pump stay on to get some air into the bags on the shocks. Then release the jack to see if I could hear air coming out somewhere without the noise of the compressor.
May not work but might be worth a try.
