Thanks a million. This is exactly what I was looking for. Will print this and keep it in the car glued to the dashboard.

Just for the sake of comparison these (as far as I can ascertain) are the box ratios for the ZF 5, 6, and 8 speed boxes: I think the 8 speed box uses a higher final drive ratio to keep the overall ratio for 1st and 2nd about the same.

3.66 1.99 1.40 1.00 0.74
4.17 2.34 1.52 1.14 0.87 0.69
4.70 3.13 2.10 1.67 1.29 1.00 0.84 0.67
