XJ8 side marker lamp popping out
Hi everyone. Trivial question, but lately my port side front marker lamp keeps popping out. (Is this actually called a "repeater lamp"? It's aft of the wheel well and just in front of the driver's door.) I notice it when I've been driving and step outside the car; it's just dangling via its wiring harness. I then pop it back in - until next time. It's done this three times in the past week or so. I've examined it and there are no obvious signs of a crack or warping that might account for a poor fit. And it snaps back in securely, i.e. it doesn't appear to suffer from a loose fit. But that can't be right, since it still pops out. No obvious correlation with having it washed; it seems to pop out on its own. Perhaps it's worn just enough such that bumps and jarring during normal driving is enough to push it out of the aperture in the body panel.
Anyone else have this problem? I suppose I could just get a new marker lamp assembly, but maybe someone can recommend a quick fix, although I don't want to use something like Crazy Glue, which would bond the lamp to the aluminum body. Pictures attached!

Bit puzzled on this one as getting these out can be a PITA, but your's pops out on its own ! Two things come to mind (1) the clips on the unit itself - are they all in order, and (2) is the wiring loom running back from the lamp hitting something and putting outward pressure on the unit ?
Edit
Check the V-shaped clip. It may look OK, but may have a crack in it preventing it working properly
