I am going to test drive a Carnival Red 2005 XJ8L this weekend. It has less than 48K miles. I read the "What to look out for in an X350 - you need to know!" and will inspected recommended item to look out for.

Since it's all aluminium body, how would body shop fixed damages to aluminium body? I am assuming that the bumper is plastic, hood and fenders are aluminium.

What's is the best way to check for body parts were replaced or were repaired?

I know these are shot gun questions? I will check it out this weekend.

If it helps any I recently paid $7375 for an 04 with 52k from a dealer. Salvage title with front end rebuilt. New front air shocks, lots of extras including xjr mesh grill, chrome wheels and almost new Continental tires. (In Cali). I think your price is a tad high. If you look at kbb.com you will see what the price should be for a non-salvage and then correct from there....

To add a salvage or rebuild equates to 20 - 40 percent off retail pricing. Agreed - that price is way too high...
