The lower heater hose on my XJR is bulging and getting ready to fail. I was going to order a new one from Gaudin, but they don't list it on the web site. This is the hose:
Gaudin's site shows this diagram:
The only hose they show is #10, which is the upper hose that connects to the metal pipe running to the heater core, the aux coolant pump, and I think the small hose goes to the expansion tank. They show #10 as this part:
HEATER HOSE - 2004 Jaguar XJR (C2C1984)
I spent half an hour on their site yesterday and cannot find the lower hose. I called them today and they told me that the lower hose is not a separate piece and I need to buy the whole thing, the metal pipe from the heater core with the rubber hose attached, for $279. That makes no sense to me. I figured if I have to I can separate the plastic connector at one end from the hose and match something up at Autozone and attach it with a hose clamp.
I then called my local dealer. He sent me a different diagram:
#4 is the upper hose and #5 is the lower hose. However, the part number Gaudin shows for the upper hose, C2C1984, is actually the part number for the lower hose. (I didn't ask what the correct number for the upper one is.)
Anyway, if you need to replace this hose, it appears C2C1984 is the correct part number. The price is $26.
