Default XJR X350 4.2 VVT solenoid same for NA and SC engine ?

I need to change VVT solenoid valve.
Question is : is the VVT solenoid valve AJ810570 same for V8 4.2 litre engine normally aspirated and supercharged ?
I cannot to find in JEPC part number for SC, there is only for NA.

The forum/site sponsors who sell parts may well be able to help.

I don't think SC engines need or use VVT

For info, the XJR X358 definitely does have VVT as I have changed both valves.

caldoofy is correct. 2006 MY XJR does have VVT as well as significantly overhauled electrical systems compared to previous MYs.

Apparently the VVT does add approx 10 bhp.

Think that is the only way to tell to be honest, I have two used solenoid valves off mine that still worked fine (just changed for new while I had the rocker covers off to do the seals) if any good to you I'll do them cheap. PM if you are interested.

Default Same parts

Rock Auto has Gates branded for a little over 50.00.
How can you tell if it is working? it is controlled by oil pressure.

I bought a new from SNG.
Yes it is controlled by oil presure. The car goes well,,but sometimes jumped into limp mode.
I had my head lid (rocker ?) down and I noticed a broken seal (see photo).

So I have oil pressure but sometimes it is not sufficient to control the valve and then limp mode occurs.
Unfortunately, I have the feeling, that I will have to remove the engine for replacement, but maybe a cooler wall will be enough to remove breasts and get to the valves.

Default Maybe not

I hope that can be performed without pulling engine. May be a radiator pull.
Did not know that oil pressure controls this function. And that if not working it triggers limp mode. Does not appear to be a common failure.
I would use the part from Gates. Easy to get here and with a 13 year old vehicle it would not fail again. My closest dealer is unfriendly. When I tell them I do my own maintenance and drive an old vehicle they act like they are doing us a favor to talk about parts or service.
A coworker purchased a Land Rover Envoquefor his wife. First oil change came up and they asked if he wanted the A,B, or C service package. The difference was 800.00, 1200.00 or 1500.00. He about fell over. Service tech told him it was obvious he had never owned a luxury vehicle. And that if he decided not have the dealer service it voids his warranty.
