I bought a new from SNG.
Yes it is controlled by oil presure. The car goes well,,but sometimes jumped into limp mode.
I had my head lid (rocker ?) down and I noticed a broken seal (see photo).
So I have oil pressure but sometimes it is not sufficient to control the valve and then limp mode occurs.
Unfortunately, I have the feeling, that I will have to remove the engine for replacement, but maybe a cooler wall will be enough to remove breasts and get to the valves.

Maybe not
I hope that can be performed without pulling engine. May be a radiator pull.
Did not know that oil pressure controls this function. And that if not working it triggers limp mode. Does not appear to be a common failure.
I would use the part from Gates. Easy to get here and with a 13 year old vehicle it would not fail again. My closest dealer is unfriendly. When I tell them I do my own maintenance and drive an old vehicle they act like they are doing us a favor to talk about parts or service.
A coworker purchased a Land Rover Envoquefor his wife. First oil change came up and they asked if he wanted the A,B, or C service package. The difference was 800.00, 1200.00 or 1500.00. He about fell over. Service tech told him it was obvious he had never owned a luxury vehicle. And that if he decided not have the dealer service it voids his warranty.
