I have a 2005 XK8 with 24,000 miles and two keyless entry remotes. The remotes used to work from a distance as far as 50 to 100 feet, sometimes even more. That's no longer the case. I tested both sets of remotes and got same results - they only work when I stand next to the car or approximate 2 to 3 feet away. The batteries in both remotes tested okay. Took the car to dealer and they simply gave me a new remote, reprogrammed it and told me it is supposed to work only when you're next to the car. As you can imagine, this is very frustrating since I was used to the convenience of being able to arm and dissarm the alarm and open car from a good distance. I don't think the problem is in the remotes and welcome any suggestions so that I can go back to dealer and request proper service. Thanks in advance for the valuable help.
