1995 Jaguar XJR 4.0L Engine Power loss and Spark Plug Fauling
Hi Fellow Jag Enthusiasts,
I just finished replacing my Fuel Pressure Regulator and Fuel Filter with an after market parts from AutoZone. I break down the details below and will report if any out of the norm issues occur.
GP Sorensen/Fuel Pressure Regulator
-----------------------------------------------
I changed my fuel pressure regulator because when I engaged my second fuel pump at 4000 RPMS and came off the throttle back to idle my jag would start to have a heavy rough idle. With the support of this forum I was only able to fix this by removing my plugs and noticing they were all fauled with fuel. I would then clean them with carb cleaner and reinstaled them. My Jag would run fine until I would engage my second fuel pump again. I soon narrowed things down to the Fuel Pressure Regulator.
I will be doing some WOT "Wide Open Throttle" runs to see if my plugs get fauled again.

I also changed my fuel filter because I was noticing power loss at times and the car would feel like I was pulling a trailer. I was glad I changed it because it had alot of black mud looking and black particles coming out when it was removed. It was definitly partially or fully plugged up. As a result of the change I no longer feel like I'm pulling a trailer but now feels really responsive. I love the power and smoothness of this Jag.

You might wanna pull the new filter in a few weeks (or whenever) just to see if it's getting loaded up with the black mud again.
I wonder what it is?
Cheers
