See page 33 and 56 and 61 of the file below :
This is for a 96 AJ16 inline 6
Tool # 18G 1433 can be substituted with 2 / 6 or better 12 inch metal rulers placed in the slots on the camshafts and looking with your eyeball to see if they are level to each other
Harbor Freight is cheep if the garage don't already have 2 , call first

This depends on you garage as to weither this is an acceptable method
