Default 1996 X300 Glove Box

Hello, I was trying to program keyless entry fob and something has dropped down from behind the glove box, it's a plastic oblong thing not solid with holes about a half inch thick but I guess the same dimensions as the glove box. Has the BCU moved it? How do I fix it back behind the glove box? Thank you

The BPM back there is mounted in a metal sliding carrier where the module would slide down after removing a plastic plug / pin

This pic from someone shows BPM slide down from the meter carrier , no need in your case to remove center console

The trick to glove box removal is to keep track of the fasteners and position and elongated hardware holes position on a cardboard with holes punched in it

See this glovebox parts breakdown

4 holes on the slid down part ?

See this thread with pics of what goes on and here again the BPM is slid down out of carrier

Thank you so much for such a quick reply. So I need to a simulated piece of cardboard to note fasteners?

Yes , just a flat peice

the last pic is some climate control air duct with foam on the sealing edge

May not need to remove glove box but swing yourself upside down under the passenger dash
