Lightbulb 2007 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas

Well, I obviously got the Jaguar bug real bad. Tonight, I purchased my second Jaguar automobile in the last 7 days. It's a 2007 Jaguar XK8 Vanden Plas, Porcelain (White) / Ivory/Mocha. It has 33,900 miles and it is in mint condition. The seller's asking price was $15,999. I got him to come down a little. There were 11 cars that I looked at closely. They all were in the 2006 to 2009 range. I eliminated the 400 horsepower Super V8s and Portfolios, because I really had no need for that extra power which would have increased the costs of repair. I really thought I wanted another black Jaguar, but the white won out in the end.

This Jaguar was found 13.6 miles from my home in Edmond, Okla, which is immediately north of OKC.

Gorgeous Vanden Plas Robert, a nice find. A perfect and practical addition to the XK8. Looks great in white. The interior is one of the best of all Jaguars in my opinion. Beautiful 20-spoke wheels, which originated with the X300 series. The hero's Jaguar (as opposed to the XK8 villain's)! Well done!!

I made my payment to the seller yesterday, but I decided to leave my White Jaguar with the Jaguar mechanic who did the pre-sell inspection for us. There were some repairs that really needed to be made without much delay.

There are several things that need to be repaired to make it perfect which all in all would have set me back $2,871.

I elected to spend a little over $800 today and had these things done immediately:

Front brake pads
Rear brake pads and machine rotors
Transmission mount

Things that can wait for awhile:

Front lower control arm bushings leaking $1,000
Rear tie rod assemble $420
Alignment $95

Right front side marker assembly $68
Left rear side marker assembly $68

Remote for second key $175

I now have both of my Jaguars at home and can hardly decide which to drive tomorrow. They both have race car speed and dreams to drive.

I am officially Jaguar cash poor, but I just had to the combination of these two cars.

I will be selling my 2007 Lincoln Town Car, Signature Series and I will be keeping my 2008 Lincoln Navigator.

So I will have at my home, for a long time to come, one black Jaguar XK8, one white Jaguar XJ8 and one silver (gray) Lincoln Navigator.
