Not anymore I was bidding on the other one with nicer buttons, got outbid and went for this one. I found them last night.

 

The buttons are a replaceable item and the kit is available from Jaguar.

Thanks. I actually bought the buttons several months ago from the dealer. They had them selling for cheaper than I'd seen them on eBay, and knowing that I'm too cheap to pay more for an already nice remote, I picked them up.

 

I know the fob has sold but what the heck is this supposed to mean (from the auction listing)

Surely that ain't the case, is it? I mean, I can reprogramme mine.

 

I have a feeling it's just a bit of an excuse for not providing programming instructions. That, or they don't know anything with regards to the programming, and don't want to be asked.

 

Maybe they are used to peddling S-Type FOBs....in which their claim is (almost) true.
ANY dealer should be capable, not just the "local" one....and independents like Motorcarman with WDS can also program the "Dealer-only" S-types.
