95 VDP Electrical Issue/No Start
I have a 95 Vanden Plas. Well, was working on installing an aftermarket radio and due to the tight restrictions with the a/c controls and clock controls,my hand kept bumping the A/C on/off control, draining the battery somewhat. So a friend of mine connected a booster box to the battery, mistakenly connecting it in the wrong polarity. Nothing seemed to happen to my battery but after that all I would get is a few clicks from the starter but she wouldn't even crank. I made sure the battery now has a decent charge (approx 12.5 volts) but now I don't even get a click from the starter. The dash lights and gauges come on but nothing. Power windows work except for the drivers window,no power seats and no interior lights but the radio, clock and a/c blower all seem to work fine. Also no security or central locking system. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Maybe a bad Body Module?

Update : Well,I ordered a BPM thru someone on Ebay. I figured it would good to have another one as a spare and be able to test it against the one I've currently got in the car. So, I removed the facia covering and removed the BPM. I wanted to check the function of one more thing in the car but after I reconnected the BPM and then the battery, most of the functions of the vehicle started operating again. It started and runs good but here's the issues I still seem to have(although I'll see if it's any different with the other BPM I'm getting latter in the week), I don't have any power seats, drivers door power window(others all work fine),and it seems as if now I'm not getting a full charge output because the gauge has dropped to around 9 volts. Is this just a circuit that is causing this issue, bad fuse or relay? Guess I'll have to wait until my BPM comes in to see if it rectifies this issue. Everything else seems to work fine( lights,signals,a/c,radio,dash lights and gauges, interior lights, etc.

Got another BPM today and still having the same issues as I did with the old one. Here's what's not working : Both front power seats, drivers door window,Central Locking system along with alarm, and it seems the alternator isn't charging the system back up. Is there any relation to all these issues? Do they all share a common relay/fuse/circuit?

Have you tried driving it around to see if the battery voltage jumps back up? I know at an idle mine is around 10volts and then after a minute of driving it jumps up to 13-14volts.
Maybe the low voltage is preventing the seats and windows from moving, I know those motors draw a lot of juice.
As for the locking system and alarm, I know after I took my BPM out I had to reteach the alarm system by opening the drives door and trunk and then rocking the valet switch on and off 5 times. Then you hit the buttons on the key fob to teach. I am sure there is a write up somewhere on here for teaching.

I've already tried resetting the alarm system and get nothing. It was working just before this incident. Once it's started I've had it running at over 1000 rpm and at times reving it up to 3000 rpm while in park but the gauge just seems to move very slowly towards 9 volts with a booster attached to the battery. I'm going to do a voltage test at the alternator next to see what the output is while running.

Did a few tests yesterday and found out that the battery was faulty. Got a new battery and all is working, well, sort of. The security system was working fine for a day but now it seems that it doesn't work again. I've tried to program the remotes again but it doesn't seem to take the programming.Any suggestions?
