Default 96 VPD Front seats-Do not move back and forth

Hello

I picked up a real nice power front drivers seat swapped it out seat doesn't move forward or back put the old one back in with with the same result. I swapped seat switches and the control box under the seat with the same result after taking a look at the 96 xj6/300x electrical guide it shows 3 relays under the seat. I put the seat into the other 96VDP and all the seat functions work so it must be a relay somewhere can hear a click when you move the switch back and forth just stumped on the location .

Thanks in advance
Wayne

I think each seat module is fed by five different fuses for various things. Follow the power feeds in the diagrams or check ALL the fuses in the two rear heelboard fuse boxes. You probably popped on of them.

Well then, you need to check all five of the power feed wires directly at the seat module. Just because the fuse is good, doesn't mean the power makes it all the way to the module. Also, close the latch on the driver door. If it's open, the seat is in the middle of the 'Exit' function, where the seat goes back when the door is open. If it's in that state, the normal operation by the switch may be inhibited.

Just two more things to look at.

Cheers,
