There are plenty of TSBs on the sunroof

And plenty of experienced help

On M' Lady Penelope the PO punted the sunroof parts away

See 13 - 20 , 13 - 30,

my guesses: 1) control module not reset properly. This is the black box at the front. Resetting it is outlined in one of the tsb’s. 2) additional friction with top sunroof panel installed. Assuming some adjustments were made to align the panel with the roof; it’s possible there is some loading one each tilt/slide mechanism.
