I've been too busy the last few days to get the injectors out to verify part number for Don..

I should be able to do that tonight or tomorrow..

We sold the Miata my wife was driving around so I had to find a replacement car
for her as she doesn't like driving my big F350 around.. Found this '06 Ford Freestyle two
streets over $2700. I had never really noticed them before, but it's actually pretty
nice for the money. AWD, leather, 3rd row seating, CVT .. It'll be a good winter car for us.

I did get my new jaguar emblem for the trunk that was missing.. so at least I accomplished somethng on it

I was on vacation last week in Maine.. returned to a cold clammy wet weekend LOL..

Here's where the car stands.. I got the new fuel injectors from Don..

I've removed and cleaned the fuel rail, I've added an inline see through fuel filter to the fuel line right on top of the fuel rail, and I've installed a new fuel pressure regulator..

I'm hoping to get the new injectors installed in the rail today and give another attempt at starting..

I'll update this thread tonight with what happens~

Update: Car roared to life first try after putting the fuel injectors in~

...and when I say roared, I mean roared.. as it passed 5000 rpms I killed it.
Blipped the throttle a couple times, then restarted.. same thing. It was as if the
throttle return spring wasn't even attached... Hey, what do you know..
It needs a new throttle return spring LOL..

I used a long wooden dowel to return the throttle to close to closed, and
started it back up.. it idled around 2,000 unless I manually closed it some more.

Without touching the pedal, I put it in drive and it slipped right in to gear so
I pulled it out of the garage and idled around the yard in forward and reverse.
No clunks, no issues, motor sounds very smooth and sweet.

I let it run for 15 minutes and it came up to temp fine, no leaks, good oil pressure.
Checked the power windows, seats, lights, wiper, radio etc.. Only thing
that didn't work was the A/C. Fan works, all the settings work, just no cold air.

Time to figure out how to replace a throttle return spring that you cant even see~

The Jag springs back to life!! Congrats. Youre on your way... That was a fine moment for you Im sure. At least until she kept on roaring a bit too much! You never know what you might discover along the way!

Great to see you have it running

One thing that comes to mind as a concern; I see you have fitted a clear fuel filter capsule to the fuel line. I have no idea which model you have used, but many(all?) of that style fuel filter are not rated for pressurized fuel injection systems.

Please be sure that filter capsule is designed for that application. As you can imagine, if it bursts while you are driving, you are at risk of an all consuming engine fire.

Thanks for the tip on the wheel restoration service.. Best price I had found so far was $150 each..
(but that was on site at my house and included them removing the wheels/tires and remounting when done)
Not sure if I'm going to do them yet.. The car is 17 years old and they are not trashed.. they are just not mint.

The cost of the car was probably a little too much for a complete unknown..
I paid $2500 and so far I've got $408 in to it..

I've probably got another $500 to go, but if I can come in at $3500 for a
nice looking XJR with 93K on it, I'll be happy.
