ABS light
So i replaced a the bulbs in my odometer to blue bulbs and notcied one of the bulbs was burnt out. after replacing it i realized why it burnt out, it was constantly on. This light is the antilock light. I took it to my mechanic and he reconnected a cable that was disconnected by the front driverside wheel. i assume this is the wheel sensor, but the light continues to stay on. he said he scanned the abs but it reads fine and told me i should drive atleast 200 miles and then the light will shut off, anyone else have any ideas?

Hate to be Mr. Obvious...but did he have the proper tool to scan chassis codes? WDS/IDS?AE w/Jag module are about all that will do it. Std. OBDII Tools will only get you Powertrain ("P") codes....
Hint: If the ABS light is on, all is not "fine"
The best way to proceed is to get the code and go from there, but C1095 is pretty common, and the cause is normally broken solder joints on the board. I'll see if I can find the link and edit back here, for you.
Here it is: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...c-fault-44272/
Searches on 3 characters or less don't work...but if you want "everything" on ABS you can search with leading and trailing "*" ie. "*ABS*" I got 114 hits in the x300 section this way, so have fun!

ETA-
A good many Jag independents have the correct scanning softwar to ID the ABS faults. In additon to the ones aholbro mentioned, AutoEnginuity w/ Jag extensions and the Snap On high end unit, among others will read them. If you have reconnected the wire, try doing a hard boot. Then, if the light initially goes off, carefully observe when it comes back on. If it is at about 10 -12 mph, the problem is likely a wheel sensor,
But as suggested by ahol, you should get the codes read before spending time or money trying to fix it. The scan should cost a shop's minimum labor, since it should take about 1/4 hr. That minimum is usually 1/2 or 1 hour.
